Fitzgerald Creek Water Pollution Control Plant Expansion from 5.0M GD to 11.75 MGD (Design-Bid-Build)

Crowder expanded the Fitzgerald Creek WPCP from 5.0 MGD to 11.75 MGD. Major scope included conversion of two existing, steel package plants to aerobic digesters and construction of new aerobic digester blower facility. Other solids handling area improvements included new dewatering electrical building, new dewatering building No. 2 with new belt filter press, polymer feed, sludge screw conveyor and truck loading system; modifications in existing dewatering building No. 1 including replacement of existing sludge feed and polymer transfer pumps, new VFDs, PLC control panel and fire alarm system. Main biological treatment area improvements include conversion of existing aerobic digesters to SBR basins 5 and 6, construction of new SBR Basins 7 and 8, construction of new FEB basins 3 and 4, replacement of existing aerobic digester blowers with new SBR blowers for SBR Basins 5-8 and VFDs. Tertiary treatment improvements included installation of 12 new plate settlers packs, refurbishment of existing sludge collectors, installation of six new up-flow filters systems and media, modifications to existing UV channels No. 1 & No. 2, installation of new UV equipment in future channel No. 4, replacement of filter air compressor system and new chemical sludge transfer pumps. Associated electrical, instrumentation and controls, SCADA upgrades, site work, yard piping, stormwater control, site electrical work, concrete and asphalt paving, fine grading, and seeding.
